Technical Drawings

Life Drawings

I enjoy sketching people, and when we progressed from environment sketches to human sketches, I found myself wanting to sketch everyone around me! But alas - a day only has so many hours to get everything done ..

Human Anatomy

This was a tricky one. It took me some time to get the hang of it.  Once I did though, I didn't regret the effort.

Perspective Drawings

Among the many drawing techniques that we have learnt over the past few years, i feel that perspective is the most essential to master. Below are some class assignments. They include two and three point perspective, fish eye and pan view, and orthographic drawings.

Mood and Environment

Besides learning perspective and the human anatomy, we also covered mood and lighting in a scene. This helped me a long way, and today as I work on my degree year project, I find it much easier to be able to convey the atmosphere of a sign via its colour scheme.

This was our first assignment when covering this topic. We were told to choose any image with a certain mood, and then recreate it using the exact same colors. This piece, along with the remaing few, were done with a mixture of watercolour and acrylic paints on paper.

Different tones and the subsequent effects it has on the overall mood.

Warm and cool tones on the same image.

This was a colour script for the short 'Azade'. The moods ranged from lonely, cold atmospheres( the city scenes) to a slightly warmer, more hopeful feel (Azade's little home)
